Hi, I’m Tom! I am a Change Risk Governance Manager with one of Canada’s top banks. I provide Operational Risk Management (ORM) oversight and challenge to initiatives delivered through Scaled Agile while ensuring the ORM Framework, Enterprise Change Governance Framework/ Standard and related activities are implemented and executed.
My experience in business analysis, compliance, risk management and the project space in Scotia Capital, TD Securities and TD Insurance gives me a unique ability to lead people across different functions. It also demonstrates my high level of adaptability to changing environments. In addition my project management experience has endowed me with excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.
Some notable accomplishments have been successfully leading the highly complex Comprehensive Capital Analysis & Review and Enterprise Wide Stress Testing exercises for Market Risk Management and managing the PRCSA and Quality Assurance/Control testing across Market Risk and Model Development. I was a TD League of Excellence award winner in 2018.
I consistently strive to exceed expectations and often work on my own initiative to develop and deliver process enhancements, often drawing on my technical skills which I work at cultivating constantly.
Outside of work, I am President of the Toronto Debating Society, the city’s oldest public debating society. This has helped me hone my communication skills and trained me to see all sides of every argument. This makes me a more persuasive speaker, a vital skill to have in an ambiguous working environment.
